In Loving Memory of Bill Millard Born September 4, 1941 – Died August 27, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bill Millard, aged 83, who departed this life peacefully. Bill was a proud veteran of the Armed Forces, having served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His dedication to his nation was only surpassed by his devotion to his family and faith.
A loving husband for over 50 years, Bill was a pillar of strength and love for his beloved wife, Marcia. Together, they shared countless adventures, traveling and creating cherished memories with their family. He was a devoted father to three children, a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia, and his parents, William and Thelma Millard.
Bill selflessly dedicated his life to raising his children, providing them with love, guidance, and support. He leaves behind his children: Sheila Latimer (Rohn), Brian Millard (Missy), and Jim Millard (Brandy).
As a papaw, Bill had the joy of spending time with his beautiful grandchildren: Grant Montgomery, Stephen Montgomery (Katie), Elizabeth Dubois (Dakota), Autumn Bolhuis (Spencer), Ashley Millard, Marshall Millard, and Maverick Millard along with his great-grandchildren: Deven Swafford, Eli Montgomery, and Malayna Montgomery.
Bill was a man of deep Christian faith and a dedicated member of Clearwater Baptist Church in Athens, TN. His faith guided him throughout his life, and he found great joy and solace in his church community.
After a long and fulfilling career, Bill retired as a machinist at an industrial facility. Throughout his life, he held various job roles, always demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate Bill's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 30th, at Clearwater Baptist Church in Athens, TN, with Rev. Greg Hutsell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share memories from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service at the church.
His family would like to express their deep gratitude to all friends and loved ones who have shown their support during this difficult time.
Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
