Warren Griggs

Warren A. Griggs II, 73, born July 15, 1949, passed away February 18, 2023 at UT Hospital, Knoxville, TN.

Preceded in death by his infant son, Jake Duane; parents, Warren and Fran Griggs; brother Edward; sister, Barbara.

Warren was born in Hammond IN. He was a graduate of Morton High School, Class of 1967. He graduated from Purdue with a master’s degree in Political Science. The man loved to debate. He worked 35 years as a Commodity Broker in Chicago, IL. He retired to Niota, TN in the midst of his wife’s relatives.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara Ann Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina Justine and Mark Wolfe; father and mother-in-law, Bobby and Beuna Smith, Merrillville, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Karen Smith of Maryville, TN.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday February 23rd, with visitation from 1-3.
