In Loving Memory of Tina Atchley
It is with profound sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Tina Atchley, who gained her angel wings on June 8, 2026. Tina was born on June 17, 1972, in Frankfurt, Germany. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, beloved sister, and faithful friend whose life was defined by selflessness, strength, and unconditional love.
To know Tina was to know the heart of a family. She was the glue that held everyone together—the one who made sure no one felt forgotten, no gathering felt incomplete, and no burden was carried alone. Her love was constant, her strength immeasurable, and her presence was a source of comfort and stability for all who were blessed to know her.
As a wife, Tina was a loyal partner and best friend to her husband for 35 years. Their love and commitment to one another were evident to everyone who knew them. As a mother, she poured her heart into her children, always putting their needs before her own and guiding them with patience, wisdom, and endless love. Her children were the greatest joy of her life and the legacy she was most proud to leave behind.
One of Tina’s greatest joys was spending time outdoors with her family. She loved camping with Ricky and their children, creating countless memories around campfires, under the stars, and in the simple moments of togetherness that she treasured most. Those family adventures reflected what mattered most to Tina—being surrounded by the people she loved.
Tina dedicated more than 16 years as a volunteer firefighter, faithfully serving her community with courage, compassion, and a willingness to answer the call whenever she was needed. Her bravery and commitment to helping others reflected the kind of person she was—someone who never hesitated to put others first.
She also spent more than 10 years as a manager at Dollar General, where she became known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and genuine care for both her coworkers and customers. Tina built lasting relationships wherever she went and left a positive impact on everyone she met.
Never far from her side was her loyal guard dog, Booford, whose devotion matched her own. Together they shared countless moments, and Booford’s faithful companionship brought Tina comfort, joy, and protection throughout the years.
Tina’s life was a beautiful example of service, sacrifice, and love. Whether caring for her family, helping a neighbor in need, serving her community, or simply offering a listening ear, she gave of herself wholeheartedly. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued, loved, and welcome.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind—the laughter she shared, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely. Her spirit will continue to live on in her children, her family, her friends, and all those whose lives were made brighter because of her.
Tina is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Atchley; her beloved children, Dustin (Cherish) Atchley, Jesse Atchley, and Jessica Atchley; her devoted parents, JC (John) and Becky Rogers, who nurtured her from the very beginning. Tina’s many siblings — Tammie Hingst (Tom) of Lexington, KY; Christina, Chris, Frankie, Jamie, Derek (Tayla), Justin (Eboni) of Florida, Ashley (Nikki) Gilreath (Marshall) of Clarksville, TN; along with Nikoli, Aubrey, Jaxson, Alex, and Macie Rogers — carry her spirit forward in their daily lives.
Her loving nature extended gracefully to her grandchildren, Alizabeth Waller, Nickolas Niezgoda, and Riley Niezgoda, who were precious to her heart. Tina also leaves behind sister-in-laws Brenda (Bill) Hall of Athens, TN, and Debbie (Orlando) Ponce of Chester, Maryland; and brothers-in-law Tony (Mary) Atchley and Eddie Cornett, both of Athens, TN.and countless friends whose lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering love that will never be forgotten.
Tina was preceded in death by grandparents Ruth and Jesse Dake, Edith and Alton Rogers; her mother-in-law Margaret (Albert) Cornett; and her father-in-law Billy Atchley.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be remembered forever. While we mourn the loss of Tina Atchley, we celebrate the extraordinary woman she was and the countless ways she made the world a better place. Her love remains with us, her memory will forever be treasured, and her spirit will continue to guide those who loved her.
Forever loved. Deeply missed. Never forgotten.
