Stephanie Dawn Simpson Jackson, 51, of Athens, TN, went to her Heavenly Home peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026. She was born on August 27th, 1974, in LaFollette, TN.
She is preceded in death by her mother JoAnn (Newport) Simpson, stepmother, Laura "Sue" Davis Simpson, father-in-law, Charles Jackson, brother, Gary Wayne Simpson, nephew, Travis Wade Smith and sister, Pamela "Pam" Sue Simpson.
Stephanie is survived by her husband Douglas Jackson of Athens; daughter Korynne Jackson and fiancé Chris Wilson; grandson Lucas Johnson all of Cleveland, TN; mother-in-law, Sandra Jackson of Athens, father, Luster Simpson of Jacksboro; brothers, Tony Simpson and wife Erica of Jacksboro and Ricky Lee Simpson and wife Robin of Clinton; sister, Cynthia Lynn Smith of Clinton and a host of relatives and friends.
Stephanie loved to travel, visiting with family & friends, riding motorcycles and live music. Stephanie had an undeniable spirit that filled every space she entered. Her smile was infectious and made it all but impossible not to smile with her. She had a true servant’s heart and was always looking for a way to help anyone in need. She was a faithful and proud member of Valley Road Baptist Church where she held many roles through the years. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and was an inspiration to many. She loved and was loved by so many. She is my sunshine…
Visitation and celebration of a life well lived will be from 3:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, August 9th, 2026, at Valley Road Baptist Church, 860 County Road 187, Athens, TN with the memorial service to follow at 5:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Jackson, Rev. David Coffman and Rev. Gus Fine officiating. In lieu of flowers, please spend the money to help someone in need.
