Robert Thomas

Robert “BT” Thomas, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Born on July 1, 1945, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Robert led a life marked by dedication, service, and love.

He spent over three decades building a successful career at Owens Brockway Glass, where his work ethic and commitment earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. A proud veteran, Robert served honorably in the United States Navy, carrying that sense of duty throughout his life.

Robert was a member of Allen Memorial Church and the Masonic Grand Lodge of Michigan, finding fellowship and purpose in both communities. Outside of work and service, he found joy in the quiet beauty of nature. An avid hunter, he cherished time spent outdoors, embracing the peace and reflection it offered.

He shared 48 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Thomas. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and enduring memories. Robert is also survived by his children, Robert (Jamie) Thomas, Marcie Thomas, Denise (Roger) Miller, and Joy; his grandchildren—Oscar, Mikayla, Sierra, Olivia, Trenton, Brian, Elizabeth, Breanna, Phillip, Jordan, Jana, and Taylor; and his ten great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. He is further survived by his brother, Ray (Vickie) Thomas, and his sister, Barbara (Jim) Ball.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ivol and Theda Thomas.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Good Samaritan Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at McMinn Memory Gardens at 2:00 PM.

Robert’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
