Athens

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved grandfather, Ramon Sanchez Soto, whose life was a true example of hard work, love, and devotion to family.

He was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to farm work on his own land, which he cared for with pride and dedication. He also had a special gift for training horses, a skill he carried with patience and pride, deeply rooted in tradition. In his spare time, he worked with metal, creating and repairing things with his hands—always building, always providing. In later years, he was a business owner of Mexi-Wing IV in Sweetwater, Tennessee, a venture that reflected his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to provide for his family.

Above all else, he loved his family. Being together, sharing stories, laughter, and time meant everything to him. He loved living in Mexico, where he felt deeply connected to his roots, culture, and way of life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jesus Sanchez Vargas and Celedonia Soto Zetina; and by Manuel Sanchez and Victor Sanchez, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Sanchez; his sisters, Rosa Sanchez Soto and Elena Sanchez Bigham; his sons and daughters: Jesus Sanchez, Luz Maria Sanchez, Jose Augusto Sanchez, Abdias Sanchez, Ramon Jr. Sanchez, Tobias Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Maria Eugenia Sanchez, Humbertino Sanchez, and Jehu Sanchez; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will forever cherish his memory.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and the unconditional love he gave to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he leaves behind.

Visitation will be held Monday December 22, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM at Good Samaritan Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tuesday December 23, at 1:00 PM. Grave side service will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
