Leanne Marie Garrett

Leanne Marie Garrett, 58, of Athens, TN, passed away on April 1, 2023, after prolonged health-related challenges.

Leanne was born on February 23, 1965, to Leonard and Claire Schiada in La Mirada, Calif. After graduating from El Toro High School, Lake Forest, Calif.  in 1983, she chose a career of serving others working in hospitality.

In February 1997, Leanne met Thomas Garrett while living in Georgetown, TX. and after a brief courtship, they knew they were meant to be together and were married in August 1997.  Leanne had a passion for animals and went on to care for many including her beloved horse, Cheyenne.

In 2016, Leanne and Tom moved to Tennessee and into their dream home in a dream location, Athens, Tennessee bringing their 9 pets with them.  Leanne and Tom spent countless hours gardening and caring for their animals settling quickly into their new lives in Tennessee.

Leanne was predeceased by her father, Leonard Schiada, grandparents, Gabriel and Cameron Schiada, and grandparents Joseph and Lucy Goulet.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas Garrett of TN., mother, Claire Schiada of TN, Son, Casey Stahl of TX, daughter, Alyssa Simmons of Calif., brother, Gabriel Schiada of NC, numerous nieces, and nephews and two beautiful grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Leanne Garrett at Antioch Baptist Church, 218 Canal St. Athens, TN. 37303 on April 13, 2023, at 6:00 PM EDT.
