Johnny "Lowell" Goforth

Johnny “Lowell” Goforth passed from this life on December 19, 2023 and entered his Heavenly home!

He loved the Lord and encouraged his friends and family to humbly seek the Lord! He wanted all his loved ones to join him in his eternal home!

Lowell was born July 12, 1942, to John Coil Goforth and Verla Cantrell Goforth.

He is preceded in death by his parents Coil and Verla Goforth; brother, Larry Goforth; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Bill Bailey; father and mother-in-law, Arlen and Pearl Harrison Hennessee Roberts and step fathers-in-law Johnnie Watson and Gilbert Roberts.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy Hennessee Goforth, his son, Garland (Misti) Goforth; daughter, Gloria (Billy) Dyke; grandchildren Cooper and Oaklee Dyke, Nathan, Emilee and Hannah Goforth; step grandchildren Briana, Mckenna, and Riley; brothers and sisters-in-law Garlen and Joan Hennessee, Frederick and Irene Underwood; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Idlewild Baptist Church from 11-12 Saturday, December 23rd with the funeral at 12 with Richard Whitehead and Carroll Hennessee officiating. A graveside service with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
